The feelings expressed by former Daily Show Host Jon Stewart are very close to mine. He (and I) are not blind to America’s shortcomings but we share a deep faith in it (and the rest of humanity) to figure it out. Pretty much any time in the last 300 years has felt like “the end of times” and to keep that perspective make looking at the present a little less hysterical.
